HH Global and Co-op Academies Trust: A Partnership Making a Real Difference
At Co-op Academies Trust, we believe in the power of partnership to make a genuine difference in the lives of young people. An exciting example of this comes through our collaboration with HH Global - a company whose social action mirrors our own commitment to co-operation, opportunity, and fairness.
Since becoming Co-op’s Managed Print Services provider in 2020, HH Global has worked closely with the Co-op Procurement Team to deliver meaningful social value initiatives across The Co-operative Group, Co-op Academies Trust, and Co-op’s lead charity partner - Barnardo’s. In early 2024, HH Global reinvigorated its Social Value Action Plan, aligning it with Co-op’s three social value focus areas - Equal Access, Peace of Mind, and Sustainability - to create immediate and lasting impact.
Through this plan, HH Global has engaged with multiple stakeholders across the Co-op community, listening carefully to their challenges and designing support that makes a real difference!
This academic year, Lee Hodgson-Winfield, Account Director at HH Global, and his team have gone above and beyond to support our Trust - donating time, resources, and expertise to support learning and wellbeing across our academies.
Every contribution has been thoughtfully designed to have maximum impact for our students and families, supporting a wide range of learning priorities and community needs. Donations have included:
- 16 ukuleles for Co-op Academy Florence MacWilliams to launch a brand-new Ukulele Club
- 108 books to boost literacy at Co-op Academy Northwood and Co-op Academy Glebe
- 50 hats and gloves for Early Years pupils to support outdoor learning and ECO club activities
- 5 iPads for Co-op Academy Portland to enhance English as an Additional Language (EAL) learning
- 1,000 reusable water bottles for Co-op Academy Broadhurst and Co-op Academy Nightingale, helping pupils stay hydrated and ready to learn throughout the day
These donations directly support equality of access - ensuring all students have the tools they need to succeed.
“My team and I are incredibly proud to have the opportunity to support Co-op Academies with all these initiatives,” said Lee Hodgson-Winfield, Account Director at HH Global.
“If our time and contributions can make a difference to students’ learning experiences, we’ll continue to do everything we can to support them.”
At Co-op Academy Florence MacWilliams, the new Ukulele Club is already helping students grow in confidence and creativity.
“This donation will be instrumental in helping us create the foundations of an accessible music community here at Florence,” said Leah Franks, Music Lead at the academy.
“The ukuleles will be used in our enrichment lessons for Years 7 and 8, helping students build upon two of our main values - Ambition and Excellence. Many of our pupils have never had the chance to learn a musical instrument before, and I am very grateful to HH Global for their support.”
Across the Trust, HH Global’s generosity has been felt in classrooms, playgrounds, and community projects.
“HH Global’s commitment to supporting all our academies has made a huge difference this academic year,” said Liz Garrity, Head of Community at Co-op Academies Trust.
“The opportunities and pupil experiences have been developed as a result of their invaluable support.”
In Greater Manchester, HH Global’s support has gone beyond donations - with the team offering careers guidance and mock interviews at Connell Co-op College, inspiring students to think about their next steps.
“HH Global has been a great support to our academies,” said Daryl Tomlinson, Regional Community Development Manager for Greater Manchester.
“The water bottles they provided have made a real difference in one of our primary schools, helping lessons run without disruption. Lee and the team have also given brilliant careers guidance and mock interview support at Connell Co-op College, with plans to do even more across Manchester.”
Meanwhile in Merseyside, the impact has been equally strong.
“A huge thank you to Lee and the team at HH Global who have been incredibly generous to our academies,” said Deborah Zaher, Regional Community Development Manager for Merseyside.
“The iPads donated to Portland have been invaluable for EAL pupils’ learning, and the books donated to Northwood were carefully considered and an enormous help to a school in real need of more resources. Thank you!”
Both Co-op Academies Trust and HH Global share a belief that businesses and educational organisations can - and should - be forces for good. This partnership is demonstrating what it means to put values into action.
Whether through supporting literacy, improving wellbeing, providing technology for learning, or empowering young people through music and creativity, HH Global’s contributions are helping our academies deliver the best possible experience for every student!
