Co-op Academies Trust attends national MAT Excellence Awards

Colleagues from across Co-op Academies Trust travelled to London to attend the 2026 MAT Excellence Awards, after the Trust was shortlisted in two national award categories.
The Trust was shortlisted for both the SEND Award and Community Trust of the Year, recognising the work taking place across our academies to support children, families and communities.
Members of our Community and SEND teams attended the awards evening, joining colleagues from across the education sector to celebrate the achievements and successes of multi-academy trusts from across the country.
For the Community Team, the evening was an opportunity to reflect on the work and partnerships developed across the Trust over recent years.
Liz Garrity, Head of Community Development, said:
“As a Community Team, it was an honour to be nominated for the MAT Excellence Awards in London and a great opportunity to hear about the other success stories from across the country.
“I was extremely proud of our Community Team for this nomination and for the opportunity to celebrate our work over the past three years.”
Being shortlisted in two categories was a proud moment for colleagues across the Trust and recognised the commitment of teams working every day to remove barriers and create opportunities for children and families.
The evening also provided an opportunity to hear about the inspiring work taking place across the wider education sector and celebrate the people and organisations making a difference to young people and their communities.
We are incredibly proud of everyone involved in the work that led to these national nominations and would like to thank all colleagues and partners who continue to make a difference across our academies and communities.
