As a Trust, we have a firm commitment to improving attendance across all of our schools and are looking for individuals passionate about raising attendance for our pupils. We have 6 schools who will be served by the Attendance and Welfare team, and each AWO will work across a cluster of 3.
These roles work with families, external agencies and colleagues to respond to, support, and implement student and family engagement strategies as part of the early help offer. These interventions will help the young people overcome the barriers they face in achieving positive attendance patterns at school.
This is a unique opportunity to join a large, thriving, multi Academy Trust and be at the forefront of innovative strategies to break down barriers to attendance. Whilst this initiative has funding guaranteed for 12 months, we are confident that the success of this role and the wider team will ensure that this has a long term future, with commitment from our sponsor and our schools.
The successful applicants will have experience of working with young people in a variety of settings and with vulnerable families / young people who experience challenging circumstances. To secure one of these roles you will need to understand the barriers to learning and attending school which are faced by young people and how they can be overcome.
