Resilience Advocates

Role Purpose:

We are seeking passionate and committed individuals from across the Early Years sector to join us as Resilience Advocates. This is an exciting opportunity to champion emotional wellbeing and personal development in early childhood settings by supporting the use of the Resilience Tracker.

 

This role would be suitable for early years professionals at all stages of their careers, including Teachers, Teaching Assistants, HLTAs, EYFS Leads, and others with experience in early childhood education. What matters most is your passion for promoting resilience in young children and your enthusiasm for empowering others to do the same.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Champion the use of the Resilience Tracker across your setting or area

  • Support colleagues in embedding a resilience-focused approach in daily practice

  • Provide informal coaching, guidance, and encouragement to other practitioners

  • Share good practice and celebrate successes related to resilience-building

  • Work collaboratively with leaders to develop whole-setting approaches to emotional resilience

 

The role of Resilience Advocate will take place across the academic year of 25/26 and 26/27. There are 11 Resilience Advocate roles available across our 5 cluster regions. These are as follows;

 
  • Leeds - 2 Resilience Advocate roles available

  • Bradford - 3 Resilience Advocate roles available

  • Manchester - 2 Resilience Advocate roles available

  • Merseyside - 1 Resilience Advocate roles available

  • Stoke/Staffordshire - 3 Resilience Advocate roles available 


 

Successful candidates will work collaboratively with Co-op Academies Trust and their feeder settings to; 

  • support children’s executive functioning and ability to self regulate through rigorous training, networking opportunities and evidence informed CPD;

  • strengthen the partnership between schools and parents in the early years, and impact on the home learning environment;

  • strengthen the partnership between schools and the private and voluntary sector within our community, and its impact on developing children’s school readiness;

  • strengthen the links between educational settings and the wider community;

  • attend and support evening twilight training for the nominated cluster of PVI settings (once per year);

  • Provide expert advice and knowledge on how to use the RAG rating system to effectively assess and make judgements across the 3 strands of resilience through 

1 hour remote/face-to-face sessions at selected PVI settings. 

Candidates must be committed to; 

  • implementing a range of strategies that develop children’s ability to; hold information and focus their attention/thinking; regulate strong feelings/their behaviour; monitor what they are doing and plan to do next; and how to bounce back when faced with difficulties. 

  • effectively use the resilience tracker to identify key areas where children need support and use this to inform practice, next steps and to monitor progress. 

  • supporting parents to understand what self-regulation and executive function can look like in young children and to work together to help them develop practical strategies that they could use at home.

You will be remunerated for your time each year with an R&R payment of £500, which will be split into two payments of £250, in January 2026 and May 2026.
